That's the point with the Ivy. The food isn't meant to be Michelin starred fine dining - its the sort of place you could go to a couple of times a week.
Clientele is mainly British newspaper editors and British TV stars - no-one I saw last time I was there would have been recognisable to a non-Brit. Although, when my girlfriend went a while back, she bumped into Joan Collins as she came out of the ladies.
