To be fair - the normal route , so it seems is to become a Styles is to drop down from a Mercure ... Have stayed in a few Styles that have done this route ( Naples for example ). I would not have been that impressed with the Mercure that they were. Mind you franchise fees prob much much less.
My personal feeling is that the brand "quality status" is Ibis Blue, Ibis Styles and then the best of the three,Ibis Red. At least in an Ibis Red you are guaranteed a standard room and a good bed for a one night stay ( a good place to burn your Accor Points ) - just never stay at the Ibis Limoges North
