To be hones, I think it is a kite flying exercise by the landlords ... to put pressure on Goldman to actually pay some rent to them. It will be a loss in the UK to have the budget brand reduced in size. They have many contracts with local authorities to re house on a B and B basic many groups of constituency. I would not wish to share the accomodation with some of these long term guests ( having done it once ).
There has been a long running dispute and some previous creditor voluntary arrangements in which the landlords to Travelodge have taken a hit ( or two ). These ones will need a considerable sum of money spent on them to bring them up to the standard of Ibis. Most do not have restaurant facilities either.
