Well, another 6 hours later (0800 HST/1500Z), Maui's now under Hurricane Warning, as are Kauai, Ni'ihau, Moloka'i, Lanai, and Kaho'olawe:



JTWC's info shows Doug's eye 92 NM/106 miles away from Hilo:



And latest satellite imagery (GeoColor, Shortwave IR, IR) shows Doug on the threshold of entering the islands:
