I entered the UK twice in June, once through LHR's Terminal 2 (one night before leaving for France on a tour), and once through the ferry terminal in Dover (returning from the tour). Both times I entered on a U.S. passport. Both times my passport got stamped, but the questioning was nothing other than the usual "how long will you be here?" and "what is the purpose of your visit."
