I had flown 38000 miles last year thru Sept. I booked and flew a trip to LHR and that put me just a few mile short of 1P. I had one more trip planned at the end of the year that would push me over 50k. Well come to find out that since my trip to London was piad by some sort of special rate card by a travel agency (I won a trip on a game show) the miles were not valid and I lost all EQM's and miles. That's right - 22,000 gone. And my chances of hitting 1P.

I call MP and was told sorry but they could not do anything for me. I told them i didnt want the miles, just the status as I fly intl flights a lota nd those perks are nice. No go.

So I emailed MP and got a nice woman and she worked everything out for me and made me a 1P this year (technically I flew 50k+) but only ot credit for 40k.

It can happen. Just find that savior at MP. It made me stay with United instead of changing airlines this year.
