Just did this transit a couple weeks ago. The Oryx Airport is airside (and open.) I would definitely book ahead of time, as they were turning people away who didn’t have reservations when we were there. It is pricey, for what you get....but a huge improvement over sleeping in the terminal.

They seem to have dialed back the transit accommodation program quite a bit. I know that we were told we were not eligible (on a 15 hours transit.) I ran into a few people who had been given hotels....but in Doha itself, which they couldn’t access. I saw several people trying to check into the Oryx Airport with their Oryx Rotana (which is in the city) reservation Qatar had given them.
