The other issue is AA change their schedules a lot at the best of the times, even if you confirm something now it is very likely it will look different in April next year.. if you can go at all!

The only upside to the above is AA are usually pretty generous about letting you choose an alternative routing, although that isn't to say they will let you fly JFK-LAX-MIA or something!
