Due to the diverse nature of our membership base, it is difficult to
design a marketing program that addresses the specific circumstances of
each member. The intent of the Mileage Plus Elite program is to annually
distinguish and reward our most frequent travelers. Because of
variations in the travel patterns of our customers, mileage and segment
ranges were established within which you may qualify for Elite status.

To offer Elite membership to customers who have not flown the required
mileage or segments would compromise the value of the benefits currently
enjoyed by the members who did qualify. For this reason, I cannot
fulfill your request for elevation to Elite status until you meet the
membership criteria.

I hope you understand and concentrate your travel on United so you do
