Funny you should ask - I'm about 4000 EQM short as well for 2P; I have about 12,000 EQM booked between now and the end of the year so I e-mailed Mileage Plus this morning and about a hour ago I got an e-mail back from Customer Service welcoming me to Premier. ^

Good luck - doesn't hurt to ask...
