My guess is that the snack box isn't being served on ALL flights over 350 miles--just the ones that occur during normal meal service times. I'm still holding out hope for the return of the SEALED fruit and cheese plate, at least in first.
Ever since the service was reduced to water only, then continuing with the additions of some products, there has been a beverage snack served in Premium and Coach - it has been, and still is the same beverage snack in both cabins. It was the snack mix for a long time, now it's a Biscoff again. On Premium Long Haul flights and Hawaii a bag of cheese crackers and Biscoff are served in Premium and Coach. First Class had been getting the picnic boxes and the snack basket on most flights. Now, some shorter flights are getting only the snack basket while the longer flights are getting boxes and the snack basket.
