I have earned my FN award (just last week) which is good for 24 months - but now that my AF fee is due this next cycle, I would like to downgrade to the free card since I'm not travelling right now anyway. According to my reading of the status terms, I won't lose either my status (since it was earned thru $40K spend then extended due to Covid, not simply granted by owning the card as the Gold level was originally) or my FN award. I think I would lose my Priority pass access but I have plenty of United passes I can't use right now anyway. Am I missing anything?
Has anyone else downgraded this year and what was your result?
after spending $20K+ at supermkts the C-19 hit and when HH announced status will remain as is I KOed my card 1 week before the AF was due, to the no fee card, figuring sometime in '21 if need be I will reUp it. The # stays the same as does everything else. Iveyet to use my Get of Jail card gift of Diamond for the next year. I will wait to see how things workout before I reUP
Ideally Im looking to rid myself of HH, but Im not gonna do it getting little to no value for my stash of pts, I found alot of times I could book at another Chain for alot better value Pts or $ wise, so a Hampton is $99 or 50K and a Fairfield down the block is 20K or $89, Im heading to The Fairfield, which is usually the case when HH presents really nutty pt amounts. Not looking to make out like a bandit just $.0045 - .005 a point and most time if lucky its .003
