I have had this account open for 20 years and had the Surpass for the last 2. I earned Diamond thru $40K spend in 2018, which carried thru all of 2019 and early this year when it was then extended for 2 more years thru March 2022. I have earned my FN award (just last week) which is good for 24 months - but now that my AF fee is due this next cycle, I would like to downgrade to the free card since I'm not travelling right now anyway. According to my reading of the status terms, I won't lose either my status (since it was earned thru $40K spend then extended due to Covid, not simply granted by owning the card as the Gold level was originally) or my FN award. I think I would lose my Priority pass access but I have plenty of United passes I can't use right now anyway. Am I missing anything?
