I’ve just done dummy bookings to replicate 3 trips to Manchester I have later this year and they all (HI, CP and Kimpton) state include 5% Vat and no mention of any “12.5% service charge”

Standard Rate. £143 07 GBP / Night. Includes taxes. Excludes 10% Service Charge.There's a separate comment saying 10% service charge on meals / drinks, so it may simply be referring to that, but if so, why mention it against the room rate which has no food included ?
