Where did you get those timings from?
If I recall the reception informed us that the soft drinks & coffee/tea was available for the whole day according to the bar opening hours. Thus it could be used during the day time at the pool like I did. This might be just poor / mixed communication from them again.
The poor communication of the complimentary selection from the bar might also be a soft measure of cost saving as you noticed people would then just drink the cheapest options like beer and house wine
A clarification regarding the room cleaning. It was available daily if required by requesting it on the previous evening. While requesting it they queried a time preference for the cleaning and the guest should be away from the room for 2 hours to avoid any contact.
