I have a Marriott 5 nights travel package that has an 7/20/2020 expiration date. In the past, I could call in sometime in July and get a one-time extension for another year. Today, I logged on my Marriott account and noted that it now had an January 2021 expiration date (I believed that the extension was automatically by Marriott). I feel that I got short-changed by Marriott and would like to know if any of you have this bad experience.
one time extension to my experience has always been on CC certificates only. The only time they extended it for travel packages was during the merger/cutover they did a one time conversion (or two) which system wise extended it by a year. You have either gotten that one time extension during the merger or bought this back in July 2019. At this point, just hope Marriott extends all certificates again if travel is not (relatively) back to normal.
