That is not a valid comparison anyway - the person wanted to extend the rental by 4 extra days - there is no entitlement to do so - with a hotel there is no entitlement to be able to extend the stay for 4 more nights - if the hotel is fully booked it may well simply say, sorry cannot extend it

Not the same as certain statuses allowing for a late checkout at a hotel or certain CDPs allowing a fee free late return of 4 hours
