Ever since the restriction at Walmart, I've been getting most of my money orders at Publix and Kroger. They're always hit and miss, depending on the cashier.
However, this past month, I've been seeing a trend where Publix is getting harder and it may be system wide.
- Most of them are now asking for a photo ID and that wasn't the case before
- Two of them I've visited, they now required a chip for anything above $500

It is still very much cashier dependent. I ran into the same thing trying to go big at $1.5K (which has worked before in May/June). 4 swipes to cover the processing fee. However, I was directly asked, "Are you using GCs today? We no longer can accept payment with those." I was told "We cannot accept payment from a card without your name on it". However, 2 days later I got 1 at $500, same location. I have lowered the profile some. Different location 2 days ago and I got 2. It just varies.
Wearing a mask helps lol.
