As someone who might not have been here as long as regulars like bagold, hfly and Merry I do feel that on FT it's my "home".
Don't get depressed by the short periods of madness, they come, they go. You need to see the board as something that constantly evolves, new people come and go, some fit in, others don't, some want to fit in, others clearly don't even want that.
We are generally a friendly yet critical crowd, of all the boards on FT I think we are the worst at tolerating criticism about our airline, perhaps it's our UK attitude, perhaps it's our lack of compensation culture, all I know is that despite the talk and mudslinging there is always some level of decency and respect for each other.
There will always be the occasional locked thread, I'm sure some people remember the "wet seat" threads and how they went? Just recently we had the "downgrade" thread, this place is kind of like speakers corner, we all have an opinion yet every now and then someone isn't open or willing to listen, so be it.
At the end of my rant let me welcome all the new members to the BA board, we're a fun bunch, we fly a great airline and are blessed with having some of BA's best here to amuse and mock us (Bisous Puc's

).
