It is a tough time to book. I would try to wait until as close to your projected travel date before looking at flights. If the carrier cancels, you are entitled to a refund. But, if you simple cannot or do not wish to travel, you are then stuck with whatever the carrier's policy is. For the most part, carriers are still offering "Covid waivers" but those leave one stuck with a credit on a carrier which one might not use for alternate travel.
