Given the source, I'm disinclined to believe gossip about who actually came up with it. But it doesn't really matter. The point was that AC seems to have been the first to market with it.
Even sharp thinkers on this forum (see Post #1 of this thread), came up with the idea before Air Canada.
No, for the first 58 posts, the thread was about belly cargo and occasionally trying to cram cargo in between seats. The first discussion of removing the seats was when AC's announcement was posted in post 59.
