I guess the moral of the story here is to get yourself an electric car and avoid all of this nonsense.
Some car charging stations do take cards, so I can envision a discount for those using the charging network's card instead of a CC eventually. However, it may not be worth the trouble since most will charge their cars overnight at home anyway.
