"They're not changes, they're 'Flight Suggestions"

I think I may have just had the most bizzare call going.

Regarding the above I phoned up to ask why random, multi sector flights, had been added to our itinerary & why no communication about them was received.

After the agent explained that our flight ORD-MSY had been cancelled ( although it isn't showing as cancelled and is still live on both BA & AA's systems to the point I can change seats for the flight) I was advised that the new flights "....weren't changes they were suggestions which had been added to our account in case we wanted to take them instead now our flight had been cancelled". Said agent couldn't explain why we hadn't been contacted about the, alleged, cancellation. When I asked about the introduction of BA's new "suggested flights" program / policy as it was a new one on me the agent couldn't give me any more details.

Needless to say I took the chance of a new, unannounced and imho totally made up policy that included a 'cancelled' flight just to cancel the entire booking and i'll rebook to someone totally avoiding the US instead.
