Random Flights Added, No Notifications

Sooooo we've been having issues with a US Itinerary for later in the year ( routes canx/ LGW shutdown/ highly restricted on services).

Long story short BA cancelled the LHR-MSY ( or suspended as they're putting it) so we took an alternative routing of LHR-ORD then AA from ORD-MSY. However today whilst that flight still exists ORD-DFW / DFW-MSY has been added to the itinerary getting us to MSY several ( 3 hours) later. BA ticketed the AA flights and they are on 125's.

Neither of us have had any notification about these additional flights and my concern is that they will actually be pushing us on to a split / two leg flight instead of just ORD-MSY.

My understanding is that any routing change that takes place I have to be notified of and if I don't find it acceptable ( which in this case I don't) then I would be entitled to suggest alternative, more agreeable to myself, routing( within reason) or at that point I can say no deal and walk away / change without penalty?

Ironically DFW was an alternate entry point for the US but we said no we want ORD and now we seem to be being sent there anyway just in a much more circuitous route!

( We 100% know this is not the original routing we agreed to as I've checked the email from BA and these flights have only turned up now after not existing for days)
