Hi everyone,
I was looking for flights back to Europe next month, originating Indonesia, and I noticed that Lufthansa is selling flights on both its own metal and on LX metal, with a ~2 hour transit in Singapore, with the flight from Indonesia to Singapore operated by SQ/GA. As far as I know, Singapore is prohibiting transit itineraries which include transfers between two different airlines. Likewise, afaik, only Singapore Airlines Group flights have the rights to sell itineraries involving a transit in Singapore.
Even if one were allowed to enter Singapore legally (either Singapore Citizen, or otherwise), one still cannot realistically transit in SG without needing to quarantine (or otherwise go through an incredibly long bureaucratic process which could take days), let alone transfer between two flights ~2 hours apart. In such case, it would appear that LH is selling a technically illegal itinerary...
As such, I understand that the border restrictions are very dynamic and things
may change, but what position does this put the passenger into?
For instance, if I booked this itinerary, and Singapore (or whatever country) is still prohibiting transit flights between two airline companies, will one have a right to be re-accommodated to an alternative itinerary that is legal?
Cheers,
Clubeurope
