I'm renewing my Global Entry, and there's the option to add my vehicle for SENTRI. As I live in California, I could see myself wanting to drive to Mexico in the next 5 years, so it'd be nice to have if it's free, but for me it's not really worth paying for.
So my questions are:
- If I add the vehicle upon renewing Global Entry, is it included in my regular $100 renewal fee? The website says "Do you want to register the vehicle now? Note that registering it later will incur additional fees" which seems to imply that it's included, but it'd be extra if I added it later.
- Will I have to go to a SENTRI inspection station for my interview then? I had read that they got rid of the inspection requirement a few years back, but the Global Entry FAQ still mentions that it's required. https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-t...sked-questions
Edit: From that same FAQ: "If you register your vehicle in SENTRI as part of your initial Global Entry application, there is no fee.". So assuming that's accurate, my only question is the inspection then.
