Yes, I should have qualified outside the US. I agree that being a visitor in your own country, which is still accessible to you, is probably a better route to take at this time.
Even inside the US it's possible to run into travel restrictions if you're going between a hotspot and a cold spot. Hawaii was the first to have strong quarantines on arrival, or at least most noticeable, but other states have done it and/or are starting to do it depending on where you come in from. I'm running into issues with being able to send someone from CA to MA for work because of MA state restrictions. I also travel between LAX and PDX for personal travel and given the difference in Covid prevalence I'm sort of waiting for the shoe to drop there and make it hard for me to go back and forth.
