It does appear that the people who got them early are likely the only ones who will get them. I'm sure United cancelled their other orders for the globes when the industry tanked in one of their first efforts to save money. Frankly, if they hadn't done that, they would have been incredibly negligent with the company's finances. I didn't get one either but would rather not get a gift and have GS (and United) continue than the alternative.
