I’m aware the *land* border is shut but it appears you can fly to the US from Canada for non-discretionary purposes i.e. visiting friends/family, pretty much as usual. Is that people’s current lived experience? FWIW I am asking as someone who is neither Canadian nor American.
I flew out of Canada to the US about two hours ago. Currently sitting in a US airport waiting for a connecting flight. No issues whatsoever; nothing different CBP-wise than any other trip. I am, however, Canadian so without knowing your nationality, I don’t know what the restrictions on you entering the US might be.
