Doesn't seem worth the hassle ... I rented a truck from Budget just this weekend myself, $20/day plus $.60/mile (kind of ouch), but so much easier than trying to cram everything in a minivan or any SUV. You might try Enterprise also, they have cargo vans which I've used many times before.
