Might be a reasonable tradeoff for you, but maybe not for the novice traveller who expects to receive 1.5 RR credits by simply showing their Southwest RR card at check-in, as the promotion states. Also, not every traveller has ready access to a fax machine. In addition, you need to call Choice first, or compose a letter or note to send with your fax, along with your RR number, to let them know why you're contacting them. If you have multiple stays, be prepared to repeat this process.

By contrast, I've had a 75 % success rate (without follow-up action) getting Choice Rewards points for Choice stays other than Econo Lodge and Rodeway Inn. With Hertz, my RR success rate is 100 %.

Perhaps this should have been set up and advertised as a "rebate" program: show your RR card at check in, save your receipt, send in a form along with your receipt to Choice, get 1.5 RR credits.
