Can't Seem to Cancel My WestJet Flight - Need Help
I have a roundtrip flight for two booked for 10 days from now. I figured I would cancel it online if they didn't cancel it before then. My booking is still active - but has been changed about 6 times.
This reservation was booked with a companion voucher, using part WJ Dollars and part cash. When I go to the reservation online, I see the buttons to cancel, change, reserve seats, etc - but none of those buttons work. I can't do anything with my reservation online.
So I called - the wait was 6 hours. I am leaving for an RV vacation tomorrow morning. I had the option of a call-back appt. on Monday or Tuesday, but I'll be on the road both days and don't know if I'll have cell service.
There seems to be one more option to cancel. Some sort of online form you can fill out. Anyone tried this and had success? I filled it out, but it says it can take up to 45 days to process. There was also a message that said, "If you don't receive a confirmation of cancellation, rest assured, it will be cancelled - so no need to fill out a 'no show' credit form". Does that mean if it's not cancelled on time, I'll still get a credit because I tried and was unsuccessful and considered a no show?
I am back home on Saturday, July 11th, and will have multi-hour access to a phone then. Flight is scheduled to depart on Monday morning, July 13th. Booked as a "EconoFlex" so I could avoid fees', so not sure if this helps my situation at all? What's the latest I can try to connect with a call agent to cancel this flight? I am feeling really panicked right now. I didn't think I wouldn't be able to cancel online! HELP!
