I think all of the speculation about USA flights is irrelevant.

The FCO are unlikely to be changing their advice on advising against travel to the USA and the UK quarantine lifting is unlikely to include the USA as a safe country.
And that is before we consider what POTUS may do. With his temperament, this is likely to be an act of spite against the EU decision to support his "Foreign virus" rhetoric.

So unless you are going one way, you are going to have to have a very good reason to want to go through the trauma when there are many more places safer and easier to visit.
