Lounge access over here in Europe is a going perk for Elites...until last year even Silver Elite on KL had access to the lounge (now they need to pay 50€ yearly IIRC). Before Skyteam KLMs GE also had access to NW's worldclubs traveling domestically on NW/CO when NWs elites had not. So I expected that GEs would be admitted to Skyteam lounges when the announcement came on 9/15.

KLM has a four-level program for some years now (blue/silver/gold/platinum), and Gold Elite has always been the second-highest tier.

Before 2000 (if I'm not mistaken) they had only three level (blue wing/silver wing/royal wing), and when it changed, all Royal Wing members became Platinum, all Silvers remained at that level.
