Walmart is excluded by rule from the current Freedom offer, even if the MCC would make it eligible. This discrepancy between Freedom and Reserve rewards for Walmart grocery purchases is discussed, and explained, in this thread beginning at post 141:

That is interesting - why Chase differentiates such? I thought AMEX would be the most stringent. Good thing that the points lost in our case is 25, LOL.
AMEX Gold earns 4x at WMT Neighborhood Store, so as Everyday earns its 2x. IIRC HH earns the grocery store bonus there too.

Thanks. I have read about other incidents about Freedom and CSR yield different result on grocery store purchases on the net but could not recall which stores are.
On another note, the $1500 per month for May and June apparently is lumped together as $3000 for the 2 months period - because the CSR's last transaction would make the June amount go over $1500 by $15, yet the full amount is shown 5x on UR account (pending for next statement). The card has not been used at grocery store the whole May - that may explain why even over $1500 spend at grocery store in June, the last transaction still earned 5x. I wonder tomorrow June 30, would a grocery store purchase on CSR still counts as 5x?
