I drove to the airport for help with my itineraries last weekend, because the Platinum agent I spoke with after a 1 hour+ wait told me that my wife didn't have a reservation. (Which was untrue.) What was true was that Delta bumped her off of my flights (separate PNR), and didn't protect her PNR on any flights.
The airport agents have a little info card they can give you that has a special phone number on it, which will get you right through. You can PM me for the number if you'd like. Delta is prioritizing people traveling over Medallion members, which is a great way to reward loyalty.
The regular agent from the little card worked wonders last weekend, and then Delta did the same thing to my wife's PNR again this weekend. They bumped her off of my flights again, and couldn't re-accommodate her in her paid class of service. Got another regular agent, who also worked miracles. Both of those agents deserve to be promoted to the Medallion line.
