Award availability question: I will be doing a TPAC flight next year and looking at CX for ORD-HKG-PEK segment, for two px... while it seems likely CX will continue A350 on the ORD-HKG segment when things start returning, I am hopeful they rotate back to B777 in the non-summer months.... I understand CX tends to only releases a single F award seat until close in to departure date... so my thinking is grab the one F award seat using Asia Miles when it first becomes available, and book a revenue ticket in F to just secure a back-up for the second seat. Does CX allow you to waitlist for F award even if you are ticketed in F, and how do they prioritize the waitlist. Assuming the waitlist clears, it looks like a F revenue tkt is refundable so I could have my cake and eat it too. Am I thinking about this correctly?
