I'm still scheduled to do a roadtrip in 2 weeks. Right now, I can cancel almost everything without penalty. I'm registered for a swim that was $75; I have a feeling if I contacted them they'd defer me to next year or even give a refund. Otherwise, I'd be out that $75.
I have an Airbnb reserved for 2 nights, and can cancel that until 7/4 without penalty, after that I'd have to pay the service fee (around $75).
The rental car can be cancelled without penalty up until the day prior.
Each hotel stay can also be cancelled without penalty up until the day prior (I'm using this to my advantage, I'm double booked for a few nights to give me time to decide which I'll keep).
So essentially if I cancel too close in, I could be out $150.
As to taking the trip...I'll keep an eye on how things are here in Texas and in each state that I'll be visiting (New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming). Some are doing better and have suggestions for quarantine if arriving by air, but none have anything for arrival by road.
Utah (the destination) isn't doing very well per capita, so I'll be keeping an eye on if the event actually happens. I won't be in Salt Lake City (other than to meet my cousin), and will be in more rural areas, which could be good or bad.
