I did a dummy booking and noticed it’s only for ‘pay now’ hotels and the discount is capped at $100.

Then I read the T&C’s (wrong order I know) and those confirm $100 cap, and also say the 15% promo orbucks must be used within 60 days.

Pay Now hotels appear to sometimes allow a full refund, but they have your money until then – who knows who actually has it if the specific hotel or orbitz goes belly up in the next year.

I then noticed my orbucks account was $0.00, as regular orbucks expire in a year after earned. Oh well – the kicker for this potential trip is that I found a much lower rate directly on the hotels website that wasn’t even prepay.

I do use the occasional orbitz or hotels.com discount code. But usually last minute when the codes are good and prepaying isn’t a risk.
