They used an older hydrofoil and I was not aware that they had expanded their business to other islands, now using a somewhat larger conventional boat. This may be the reason that the service with the car ferry was discontinued and Patras excluded. Thanks for the tip!
That may be a big blue boat called the Ionis that ran Patras, Kefalonia, Ithaca (Vathy) Paxos maybe, then Corfu and back. It had cabins that you could sleep in - and I did in 1978!! I
did a bit of research and found this on the history of the Ionis and it's routes in the Ionian and elsewhere. I did the route up from Ithaca to Corfu, stayed a few days and came back overnight. I think it was about 5 to 6 hours from memory.
