Perhaps true, but a lot has to do with how much you're "stuck" with their vouchers or cash. I personally have about USD1,000+ with Firefly (a Malaysia Airlines subsidiary) which I'm quite happy to forgo and not set foot onto its planes again - unless there's absolutely no other alternative.
