Hotels as such are pretty low risk--you spend 30 seconds ~2m away from the front desk clerk and then don't have to interact with another human being at all should you choose not to.

I don't know what the deal is with the worldwide obsession with inanimate objects, but coronaviruses are very fragile outside a host and inanimate objects are not an important pathway for transmission. It would take a whole lot of stars aligning just perfectly to catch this or any other coronavirus from a hotel room in which you're the only occupant.

This is a virus for which nearly all transmission is directly from one human to another. You are way more likely to get infected from a fellow bus passenger or grocery shopper--and even that looks unlikely based on current data; the real risk is places you spend actual time around the same strangers, e.g. religious services, concerts, festivals, bars.
