Mine expired in April and I printed out/laminated the extension letter from the DMV. Ive rented 4 different cars in 2 different countries from 3 different vendors without issue. To be honest, neither Hertz, Europcar nor Enterprise even noticed it was expired so I wouldn't say anything unless they ask, then show them documentation.
