My niece is hoping to pick up a car for a one way from an HLE on Friday.

The catch is, her (CA) DL expired a few weeks ago. She's been unable to renew it due to COVID DMV closures (she's not eligible for online/on phone renewal). Purely from a traffic law perspective, this is fine in CA at the moment - amnesty is being given for expired licenses within some guidelines.

But, do you think Hertz will let her pick up the car?

The alternative is having her boyfriend pick it up, and her listed as an additional driver - but he doesn't get out of work til much later in the day and it's a pretty inconvenient option for them.
