as the title says......

i used my 2 "fly 1 for 2 certs" and have my folks on 926/927 (sfo-cgd-sfo on 28, sept/25, oct) for their 50th wedding anniversary (12, sept) and was wondering if it is appropriate to ask the flight crew to "embarrass" my folks on the flight with an announcement about their 50th. the reason i ask is that i was on a previous ua flight when the captain did make such an announcement for another couple.

if it is appropriate, other than asking the counter agent to get a message to the gate agent to get a message to the flight crew, are there any suggestions???

i did have res put a note in the "united field" of their pnr but i'm stumped as to what else-and even tho mom and dad are 71/72, they put a lot of us "younguns" to shame so asking for a gate pass so i can walk them to the gate and then "bribe" the g/a's with tootsie pops would not be right.
