My suggestion would be to contact BA to link your two bookings (it's a note in the booking) since that is the approved method for ensuring that a child on a separate reservation is not blocked from travelling unaccompanied.
I also suspect you can sort this out at the airport, though if BA find out the "adult" traveller is under 15 they might cancel the reservation themselves which could be awkward.
