I have expressed my sadness with my past thoughts on one of the older threads.
Like every hotel and brand in the Universe there are the fans and the those that are not.
You can not please everybody. No matter how good you are.
Flyertalk has clearly shown us that.
Timing and many other factors come into play each and every stay.
The Sheraton Southgate was blessed with a brilliant and caring management team. With a consistent track record.
This hotel pleased the large majority of its customers.
By and large over the years this hotel has done a fantastic job and clearly hit new heights in exceeding SPG expectations.
Many of the folks that I met over the years on my various stays at the Sheraton Southgate will continue to linger in my memory for a long time to come.It may be a business running a hotel but it was always returning to see good friends at the Southgate
They demonstrated the beauty of the Australian hospitality and style with a lot of class.

My personal best wishes to all those in Melbourne for their past kindness, generous and inspiring performance.
Some of my finast SPG stays were taken here in the past and I can't see anything easily ever replacing that.
They were one of top 10 reasons I had to be in the SPG program.
The Southgate Sheraton wil be missed from the Starwood family of hotels.
It will never be the same when visiting Melbourne in the future.
Many Cheers and Bravos
