I very rarely pay for parking. In England, 95% of the time there's free parking within walking distance of where I want to go. The rest 5% of the time there's free parking very near to the stop/station of whatever means of public transport can get me quickly (under 15 mins) to my destination. In Greece you can pretty much park wherever you like (some people even park on disabled kerb-access ramps or just leave their SUVs on the corner ) so it's not a major issue.

Consequently I've got no idea of what you're on about.
