Okay, I guess it's unique to J fares. YR on coach fares to Europe is currently $400 roundtrip ($500 for premium economy). There are currently 28-day advance purchase Z fares (basis ZN5X87D1) to numerous EU destinations from JFK available for travel from 8/15 - 1/10 with a base fare of $231 each way which results in an all-in price of around $1864 roundtrip (in the case of ZRH, other countries vary due to taxes). If YR was banned, they would just raise the base fares and so it really makes little difference in the end.
