Automated reply today from Icelandair, 6/16, auto-email acknowledging they have my email but no substantive reply.
AmEx says their investigation expected to conclude no later than 7/7.
Something isn't right.
Icelandair is still continuing to deny receiving notification from Chase Visa that I cancelled my charge back for our mid-March flights. This has stretched on from mid-April to today. I have sent them a copy of the cancellation notification that Chase sent me, and even a photo of the rebilled flight (now paid) on my bill. We have a Chase bank ccount and our liaison banker is now trying to get to the bottom of it. I know Icelandair has laid off many or most of their employees, but I'm stuck between Icelandair and Chase Visa in what appears to me as either stunning incompetence or downright fraud.
I think my only recourse may be to try to renew my charge back with the credit card. Icelandair is still
hanging by a thread, financially, and the next deadline is June 30. I've also monitored several internet forums, including Facebook, Trip Advisor, and others. I have read
many complaints about lack of refunds or of promised flight credits not being issued.
